The ViewGuru Philosophy

1. Great Views Make Lasting Memories

Glacier National Park - Montana, USAWhenever you travel, there’s a lot to do. But, what sticks in your memory? The magnificent things you see.

If you’re interested in beautiful scenery, vistas, cityscapes, breathtaking views, scenic overlooks, and postcard memories, then ViewGuru is for you.

ViewGuru’s mission is to share these places, so you always know exactly where to go to see the best of the best.

2. Always See the View from a Landmark

If views are important to you, you’ll always get to the top of the greatest landmark wherever you are. Whether it’s the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Empire State Building in New York, or Sugarloaf in Rio de Janeiro, you know how awe-inspiring it is to see all the way to the horizon as you take in an entire metropolitan area or national park.

3. Always See the View of a Landmark

There’s just one problem with getting to the top of a famous landmark: You can’t see the landmark itself while you’re on top of it!

So, it’s also important to plan exactly where to go to get the most exquisite view of that building or mountain that gave you such inspiration in the first place. ViewGuru is all about finding these perfect spots.

Who’s Behind ViewGuru?

Machu Picchu, PeruI’m David Motto, and I’m obsessed with finding the best views in the world. To me, wide-open vistas are inspiring, humbling, and just plain amazing. Wherever I am, I’m always seeking the best locations to experience these views – in hotels, from restaurants, on hikes, on scenic drives, and even in my day-to-day life.

Feeling inspired is important to me. My job (and my other passion, aside from views) is coaching performers. I’m known as the Ten Minute Virtuoso, and I help musicians, public speakers, and athletes worldwide efficiently and effectively master the skills that are essential to building confidence and inspiration so they can always be successful.

To me, the peak experience and flow that can happen on stage and in competition are very similar to the feelings of awe I’m struck with as I look over amazing vistas. I’m lucky to have seen so many breathtaking views, including the Grand Canyon, Machu Picchu, the Matterhorn, the Napali Coast, and the Egyptian pyramids. At home in the San Francisco Bay Area, I make the time to see Pacific Ocean sunsets and marvel at the scenic beauty (when it’s not foggy!!) every time I cross the Bay Bridge.
